Double Chocolate Oreo Bundt Cake Ingredients
Bundt cakes are simple to make and look even better once baked with all the decorations! Make this cake all in one bowl and watch it bake easily in a bundt pan. They have that beautiful circular look that brings this cake more decadent than the rest.
- Devil’s food cake – Make this cake even easier by using a box cake mix. This has all the flavor and ingredients to help make this chocolate Oreo bundt cake. No need to add flour or sugars, it is all in the cake mixture!
- Instant chocolate pudding – This is a hidden ingredient that is delicious and adds so much sweetness and that soft, fudgy texture to this chocolate cake.
- Sour cream – Soften this cake with sour cream! It aids in adding flavor but more importantly, it helps in
- Eggs – This will help bind the bundt cake while baking as well as give it that soft and bouncy texture.
- Water – Add moisture to make this cake a soft and moist cake.
- Oil – Vegetable oil works best! Oil helps with the water and eggs by creating a moist and delicate cake without it crumbling.
- Mini chocolate chips – Each bite will have a little more chocolate as well as texture from it.
- Oreos – Smash up chunks of Oreos to add into and on top of the chocolate Oreo cake. The chopped Oreos will be an added hit to your bundt cake recipe!
Frosting Ingredients
This is your classic cream cheese frosting that is smooth and creamy with that hint of sweetness. It blends perfectly with chocolate cake! Use a stand mixer or an electric mixer to blend the ingredients together until creamy. Once the baked cake is on a cooling rack and cooled, the frosting will set up nicely. This is the perfect combination!
- Cream cheese – Room temperature cream cheese will help alleviate any lumps when mixed together.
- Butter – Use either salted or unsalted butter for this frosting.
- Powdered sugar – Adds sweetness and thickness to make the frosting.
- Vanilla extract – Blends the ingredients together and adds a hint of vanilla flavoring.
The Great Thing about a Bundt Cake
This is such an easy cake to make when you are trying to impress. It looks a lot more difficult than it is. When I made this a few weeks ago and brought it out on a pretty platter, it got so many “ooohs” and “ahhs”. If you want to spruce things up a bit or add some variety, try using different Oreo flavors.
With Christmas coming up you can use the mint Oreos (my personal favorite) with some of the Oreos with red filling and make a beautiful and colorful Christmas Oreo bundt cake. You can really dress it up for ANY season — Oreo always has tons of fun flavors. Planning for a crowd? Don’t worry. You can easily serve 10-12 people with just this one cake. Perfect for company Christmas parties or potlucks!

Frequently Asked Questions
Bundt cakes are set apart from other cakes because they have fluted edges that make them look more elegant even before decorating them. The bundt cake pans also have a hole in the middle which makes them look like a donut shape. This hole helps the cake cook more evenly.
Since the bundt cake has a rounded ridge with a hole in the middle, the cake allows heat to come in and expose the bottom of the bundt cake. This leaves the cake moister and allows the heat to transfer more evenly throughout the cake.
For all chocolate lovers adding a teaspoon of espresso powder can help strengthen the chocolatey flavor!
If you leave them sitting in the frosting for a long time, they will soften. I would suggest adding them right before serving for the crunchiest Oreos!
How to Store Oreo Chocolate Bundt Cake
Chocolate bundt cakes cake be stored in an airtight container. To lock in the moisture of the cake, wrap it with plastic wrap before placing it in the airtight container. This will help hold in the moisture leaving it without becoming crumbly.

Mix in the vanilla, then gradually stir in the powdered sugar (start with 2 cups then keep adding more until it is nice and thick). Spoon into a large plastic bag and cut a large hole in the corner. Pipe thick strips of frosting over the cake.
Oreo Topping:
- Add the 6 whole Oreos into the frosting, then sprinkle on the crushed Oreos.
Do you use the 3.9 oz chocolate pudding or the 5.9 oz size?
I use the 3.9 ounce size. I will mark that correctly in the recipe. Thank you for your question!
How can I make this even more chocolatey?
A teaspoon of espresso powder can help strengthen the chocolatey flavor!
It looked good but was too heavy. Next time I will do a light choloate cake with the same topping. I did put fine choloate on top of cake as well
