Ingredients in Our Turkey Over Italy Sandwich
- Focaccia Bread – I like using thick slices of bread, but the bread slices are up to you. It makes delicious sandwich bread!
- Smoked Deli Turkey – deli meats are thinly sliced and are perfect for this turkey club or any other turkey sandwich recipe.
- Provolone Cheese – This cheese gives the sandwich an Italian flair with rich, yet slightly tangy cheese.
- Shredded Lettuce – any kind will do, but shredded iceberg lettuce is perfect.
- Sliced Pepperocinis – you can use other vegetables too like cucumbers, onions or anything that gives the sandwich a crunch.
- Mayonnaise – mayo pairs well with honey mustard or dijon mustard if you like that combo.
- Pesto – use canned pesto or you can make your own.
- Red Wine Vinegar – adds a salty, zesty flavor to the sandwich.
- Oregano – just a little fresh oregano adds to the Italian flavors.
