Air Fryer Frozen Mozzarella Sticks

Once you make frozen mozzarella sticks in the air fryer, you will never go back to trying to bake  them in the oven. They are a tasty snack for kids (or adults) and they air fry in mere minutes! They also make for a great party appetizer. The air fryer cooks them perfectly and in the perfect amount of time. No cheese oozing out from cooking too long. Dip them in marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Best Frozen Mozzarella Sticks

There are several great brands of frozen mozzarella sticks. We have done taste tests within our family and have found that the Petite Cuisine brand found at Costco was not only the best value, but also the best tasting! Other favorites included Trader Joe’s brand, T.G.I. Fridays, and Farm Rich mozzarella sticks.

How Long Should I Cook Frozen Mozzarella Sticks in an Air Fryer?

Air fryer cooking times can vary greatly from brand to brand. I have found that with my air fryer, 6 minutes at 375 degrees F is perfect. I have a counter-top air fryer and there is no need to preheat. If using an oven on air fry or convection mode, you will want to pre-heat the oven before air frying. When I do large batches in the convection oven, I usually have to air fry them for a minute or two more (so 7-8 minutes).

Tips for Air Fryer Frozen Mozzarella Sticks

  • Always cook in a single layer whether you are air frying on a baking sheet or in an air fryer basket. It is better to cook in batches than having them heat unevenly.
  • Do not thaw before cooking. Take the frozen cheese sticks straight from the freezer and place inside the air fryer. Otherwise the cheese will cook too fast and you will have a melty mess.

Homemade Mozzarella Sticks

Not into frozen mozzarella cheese sticks? Would you rather make them FRESH? They are a little more time intensive but totally worth the effort! We have a delicious recipe for Homemade Mozzarella Sticks that you will love! You can either deep fry them or air fry them, it’s up to you!

Dips for Mozzarella Sticks

There are so many tasty dips you can make for air fryer mozzarella sticks! Here are some of our favorites:

How to Store and Reheat Leftovers

If you happen to have some leftovers you can always save them for later. Place your leftover cheese sticks in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in the air fryer at 400 degrees F for 1-2 minutes. They will melt faster and might leak out a little cheese but they will still taste great!

Made these for lunch. They turned out so good! So much better than the deep fried stuff you get at restaurants! I will be making more today for the kids to snack on after school.
