Have you ever eaten at the Blue Bayou restaurant in the Disneyland Resort? Located in New Orleans Square, adjacent to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, it’s a very popular and immersive experience for guests. Todd and I (pictured below) first went to the Blue Bayou on our honeymoon. We celebrated our anniversary there this year. It was just as wonderful as we remembered!

Blue Bayou Restaurant in Disneyland

For kids and adults alike, the Blue Bayou restaurant provides delicious dishes and a fun dining atmosphere. And with advance reservations available online or via the Disneyland app, it’s never been easier to enjoy lunch or dinner at Blue Bayou Restaurant. Todd had the pork chops, which were AMAZING, and I had the sustainable fish of the day, which was cod the day we were there. It was cooked to perfection!

Blue Bayou Restaurant – Location and Reservations

As I mentioned before, Blue Bayou Restaurant is located in New Orleans Square. If you’ve never been, this is located within Disneyland Park. When you enter Disneyland via Main Street, U.S.A., take a left at Refreshment Corner and head to Adventureland. Continue through Adventureland until you get to New Orleans Square, where you’ll pass Tarzan’s Treehouse and Pirates of the Caribbean. Tucked into a shopping and dining area by Café Orleans, you’ll find Blue Bayou Restaurant. You can also reach New Orleans Square by hopping aboard the Disneyland Railroad at the Disneyland Park entrance and getting off at the first stop. You’ll be dropped off behind the restaurants of New Orleans Square.

Because Blue Bayou Restaurant is a full-service, sit-down dining experience you won’t be using Disney Mobile Ordering here. However, you can make reservations up to 60 days in advance. It’s a great way to ensure you get to have these special experiences during your vacation! To make a reservation, you can go online, call Disney directly or use the Disneyland app. To see what’s available during your vacation dates, select “Check Availability” to find a table and book. If your travel party is quite large, the experts at Get Away Today suggest calling to make your reservation and ensure you can book tables close to one another. This is one of the more expensive dining options in Disneyland, so planning ahead will ensure you budget accordingly.

Blue Bayou Restaurant – Ambiance

This themed dining experience combines the magic of Disney with the charm of New Orleans at night. During lunch and dinner, you’ll feel like you’re dining under the stars thanks to the twinkle lights, fireflies and darkened ceiling. The chirps of crickets and croaks of frogs set the tone for a relaxing meal by the bayou. In addition to the ambiance of Blue Bayou Restaurant itself, you also experience a glimpse of the adjacent Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Guests aboard Pirate boats float serenely by the diners, unaware of the adventures that await!

As if that wasn’t enough, you can also purchase Blue Bayou Fantasmic! Dining Packages. With this purchase, you enjoy a 3-course meal at the restaurant, followed by priority seating for the Fantasmic! showing that evening.
