The perfect beverage to warm you up on a chilly day, this Raspberry Hot chocolate is wonderfully sweet with a kiss of raspberry flavor. Blend two ingredients to make this simple, delicious treat, and two more to create the soft and creamy top.
Ingredients in Dutch Bros Raspberry Hot Chocolate
- Chocolate Milk
- Raspberry Syrup
- Soft Top: Cool Whip and Sweetened Condensed Milk
Dutch Bros Soft Top
Dutch Bros are the engineers behind something called a ‘soft top’, a creamy creation made from a mixture of sweet cream, heavy cream, and vanilla syrup. They top special drinks with this topping and we all love it! It adds a creamy indulgence that levels up any drink.
We have recreated that soft top by combining Cool Whip and sweetened condensed milk. This creates the perfect texture to spoon over the top of your hot chocolate. No marshmallows needed!
Raspberry Syrup
- If you look for raspberry syrup in the store, it will look like a bottle of coffee flavoring syrup. You might not be able to find it at your typical grocery store.
- You can find a bottle of Torani Raspberry Syrup at World Market.
- After some research, it seems that some Wal Marts may carry different raspberry syrups.
- You can order different options of raspberry syrup on Amazon.
- If you would like a homemade version, you can use our strawberry syrup recipe and create your own syrup using a small saucepan, a fine mesh strainer, and the fruit of your choice (our recipe calls for strawberries, but raspberries would work just fine).
Frequently Asked Questions about Dutch Bros Raspberry Hot Chocolate
The tartness of the raspberry is balanced by the sweetness and creaminess of the chocolate. Raspberry compliments all types of chocolate, from the richest dark chocolate, it brings a more mild sweetness, to the sweetest white chocolate, it balances out the sugariness, creating a creamy and tart experience.
A great snack is taking frozen dark chocolate chips and eating them with fresh raspberries.
Many people say the secret is to add a special flavor. We are doing just that! By adding raspberry to the hot chocolate, it becomes gourmet because it is special.
Adults and kids love it because it tastes different from traditional hot cocoa, and the soft top adds something luxurious.
Consensus says…milk. Whether you use whole milk, 2%, soy, almond, or whatever tickles your fancy, milk creates a creamier background for the chocolate (and in this case, raspberry) to melt and mix, making your perfect hot cocoa.
