Why You’ll Love This Cream Cheese Fruit Dip
This creamy and dreamy fruit dip has just the right balance of sweetness and a hint of citrus. It’s smooth, fluffy, and pairs beautifully with any kind of fruit. Whether you’re serving it at a baby shower, bridal shower, potluck, or simply enjoying it as a treat at home, this dip is guaranteed to be a hit. Even kids can’t resist it!
Dip Ingredients You’ll Need
Here are the simple ingredients that come together to make this delicious dip:
- Cream Cheese: One 8-ounce package of full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature. For a tangy twist, you can mix in some Greek yogurt.
- Marshmallow Creme: 7 ounces of fluffy marshmallow cream for that perfect sweetness.
- Frozen Orange Juice Concentrate: Just 2 tablespoons add a refreshing citrusy kick.
- Orange Zest (Optional): A tablespoon of grated orange zest adds a pop of color and extra flavor.
Want to customize it? You can also add a dash of lemon juice, a splash of vanilla extract, or even sprinkle in some cinnamon.
How to Make Cream Cheese Fruit Dip
Making this fruit dip couldn’t be easier! Follow these simple steps:
- Soften the Cream Cheese: Ensure your cream cheese is softened to room temperature to avoid lumps.
- Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Add the Sweetness: Gradually mix in the marshmallow creme until well combined.
- Add Citrus Flavor: Stir in the orange juice concentrate and optional orange zest for a burst of citrusy goodness.
- Chill: Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least an hour to let the flavors meld together.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve the chilled dip with fresh fruit or your favorite dippers. Enjoy every sweet, creamy bite!
Fresh Fruit Ideas
This dip is the ultimate complement to fresh, ripe fruit. Fresh fruit, in season, home grown or bought locally, is always going to taste the best. You can choose just one fruit to serve with the dip, or you can fill a platter with lots of different kinds of fruit. For an extra-special touch, arrange the fruit on a platter for a stunning fruit charcuterie board! I like to arrange the fruit in rainbow color order. Here are some of my favorites fruits to use:
- Apples
- Bananas
- Orange wedges
- Strawberries
- Pineapple
- Kiwifruit
- Grapes
- Watermelon
- Cantaloupe
- Honeydew
- Peaches
- Pears
- Cherries
- Raspberries
- Blackberries
- Blueberries
More Dippers to Try
Why stop at fruit? This dip is just as amazing with:
- Vanilla wafers
- Graham crackers
- Pretzels
- Sugar cookies
- Pound cake chunks
- Animal crackers
How to Soften Cream Cheese
No one likes lumps in their fruit dip! Here’s are 3 methods to soften cream cheese:
- Room Temperature: Leave the cream cheese out on the counter for 30-60 minutes.
- Hot Water Bath: Place the foil-wrapped cream cheese in a bowl of warm water for 5-10 minutes.
- Microwave: Cut the cream cheese into cubes and microwave for 15-20 seconds, stirring as needed.
Tips for Perfect Cream Cheese Fruit Dip
- Soften the Cream Cheese: This is key for a smooth dip! Let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes, or use one of the quick-softening methods below.
- Make It Ahead: Prepare the dip at least 1 hour in advance to let the flavors meld. Store it in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to serve.
- Serve Fresh Fruit: For the best results, pair this dip with ripe, seasonal fruit prepared the same day
Storing and Making Ahead
- Make Ahead: To get the best flavor, let the dip chill in the fridge for at least an hour before serving. The orange juice concentrate adds a refreshing citrusy flavor, and letting it sit allows the flavors to blend beautifully. For even more flavor, prepare it a few hours or a day ahead.
- Refrigerate: Store the dip in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Give it a good stir before serving.
- Freeze: Yes, you can freeze this dip! Let it thaw in the fridge overnight before serving.
Questions About Fruit Dip
Generally speaking, cream-based dips or recipes should only sit out about two hours, but any longer than that, it needs to be refrigerated.
Yes, you can! Low-fat cream cheese works well and still gives you a creamy, delicious dip. Just note that the texture might be slightly less rich than when using full-fat cream cheese.
For a dairy-free option, try using vegan cream cheese and a dairy-free marshmallow fluff alternative. These swaps will still give you a smooth and flavorful dip that everyone can enjoy.
Yes, this dip naturally does not contain any gluten.

This is so good! I could eat it with a spoon! the perfect fruit dip for sure
I also use this but add in 1 8oz container of cool whip, you’ll never go back to not putting it in.
The recipe with cool whip sounds good but can you still taste the cream cheese as much?
It has a little tang to it, but it isn’t super cream-cheesy. You can always add more cool whip if you want to dilute the cream cheese flavor.
I’ve made this same dip….but I also add one tub of cool whip, makes it extra creamy.
Orange juice is a great addition!
I tried this dip at a wedding , I had to have the recipe , 8 oz. creme cheese at room temp. 8 oz. of marshmallow creme and 1 cup of powdered sugar. mix and serve with grapes, blueberries, Mandarin oranges, kiwi. soooooo ! yummy.

I had often made the cream cheese/marshmallow cream fruit dip, but had never added the orange juice and zest. It was delicious. Added a little tang and cut the sweetness. Thank you!

So glad it was a hit, that’s awesome, thank for sharing!
Delicious! Can the dip be frozen, thawed and maintain the flavor and smoothness?
Probably not. My experience has been that cream cheese does not freeze well. It will last in the fridge for up to a week though.
I make my fruit dip with Marshmallow fluff, cream cheese and pineapple juice! It’s sooo delicious!!!

Hi! Could you please tell me what Mashmellow cream is please. I have never heard of it. Thankyou. Sounds great I want to make it.
I think she means like marshmallow fluff …I’ve made it with just the fluff and cream cheese and that’s good too
How much of the cream cheese do you need to make dip and how much do you need of the marshmellow fluff Thank u im trying to get this info before my daughters baby shower on feb 2nd thks
Amounts are stated in the ingredients list.
How do you get the 2 tablespoons of frozen orange juice concentrate?
I buy the frozen concentrate in cans and take the 2 tablespoons out and then put the rest in a tupperware.
7 oz of fluff, 8 oz of cream cheese or one bar.
It’s the best fruit dip for all fruits
You must be from New England..lol. here in the south we call it marshmallow cream😃
They sell Fluff in Publix. It is a New England thing. We make Fluffanutters with it. Lol
Comes in a jar and is usually near the ice cream section with other toppings. Made by Kraft.
Actually I just bought some today. It’s Kraft Jet Puffed Marshmallow Creme. It was near the marshmallows on the baking aisle. It is often found with the ice cream toppings as well
You can find it in same area as marshmallows. It’s in a 7 or 8oz plastic jar. Kraft makes it.
Jet puff Marshmallow cream, it’s marshmallows in a jar!
Marshmallow cream is sometimes called Marshmallow Fluff. It is in a jar with the bagged marshmallows. Kraft makes it.
Marshmallow fluff is not cream. Its texture is much different. While in Ca my Mom mailed fluff to my kids because it was a North East product. Cream will make a very messy fluff peanut butter sandwich as it is a loose cream It could mean the difference in texture of your dessert.
It’s marshmallows turned into a cream. It comes in a jar and you should be able to find it near the marshmallows or in the baking isle at the grocery store. There are also recipes online where you can make it yourself with marshmallows and a few other ingredients… Hope that helps!
I made this for my baby shower and EVERYONE loved it. Even was asked by a few for the recipe and to make it again..lol. THANK you! I did modify this a bit and used Tropicana orange juice because I didn’t have the concentrate. Either way it was great! Thank you!
