My favorite part about watching the Super Bowl is the food! I know, it should be the halftime show…I mean the football game, but the food is just so good. I generally get excited about the food in most situations. Watching football gives me an excuse to make some of my favorite game day classics – wings, potato skins, lil smokies, dips. For our Super Bowl party we go all out, it usually replaces lunch and dinner for that day.

We thought that we would compile a list of our favorite Super Bowl recipes for you to have on hand for the big game. You are going to love these Super Bowl recipes, they are the best of the best for the biggest game of the year! We have a little bit of everything for you… saucy meats, savory appetizers, sweet treats, and delicious dips. Everything you could possibly need for the Super Bowl (or any tailgate, game day, or sporting event party really).

Dips

You can’t have a real party without some kind of dip on the serving table, right? You can go with a traditional nacho cheese, guacamole, or bean dip or go out on a limb and try something new like our Warm Bacon Cheese Dip or our Dorito Dip – a dip made especially for Nacho Cheese Doritos.

Hot Dips

  • Nacho Cheese Dip: Grab the tortilla chips and dive right into this cheesy dip. The Ro-tel tomatoes add just the right amount of spice to make it absolutely irresistible.
  • Easy Cheese Sauce: This creamy, smooth dip goes perfectly with nachos, pretzels, steamed veggies and more.
  • Warm Bacon Cheese Dip in Sourdough: This hot dip is loaded with cheese and bacon. It bakes to perfection in the oven and smells as wonderful as it tastes.
  • Buffalo Chicken Dip: A hearty dip filled with shredded chicken, blue cheese crumbles, and hot sauce. Serve with crackers or chips, and celery sticks.
  • Hot Spinach Artichoke Dip: Creamy, bubbly, and cheesy, this dip disappears as fast as you can make it!
  • Chili Cheese Dip: This dip is must on Super Bowl Sunday. There are only 3 ingredients and it keeps warm in the crock pot so you can keep going back for more throughout the game.

Cold Dips

  • The Best Guacamole Ever: Combine avocado, red onion, garlic, cilantro, tomatoes, fresh lime, and a few seasonings and you’ve got the best guacamole ever!
  • Beau’s Clam Dip: Our creamy clam dip is loaded with minced clams and fresh lemon. It is so good! It tastes the best with salty, ridged potato chips (Lay’s or Ruffles).
  • Dorito Dip: Not a dip made of Doritos, but a dip for Doritos. Trust us, you will never want to eat Doritos without it again.
  • 5 Minute Creamy Corn Dip: Really! It only takes 5-minutes to mix up this dip. You can eat it immediately or make it ahead and then chill it in the fridge.
  • Nine Layer Dip: Layers of refried beans (or refried black beans), guacamole, sour cream, cheese, diced tomatoes, onions, salsa and more. Everything you could ever want to eat on a tortilla chip!
  • Easy Fruit Dip: Yes, there are football fans out there who would love a little fruit during the Super Bowl. This smooth and sweet dip is so perfect for fresh fruit.
  • Easy Spinach Dip: With only 5 ingredients, this spinach dip can be made in a snap. But, it tastes best chilled so make sure to make it ahead.

My husband and I got so tired of not seeing our friends during Covid) that we invited our theatre group (all double or triple-vaxxed) to a dinner party mid-December. These were some of the appetizers we made and they were wonderfully received and quickly gobbled up. Of course, all of the hot seeds were removed so they were not spicy. Be sure to make this recipe. Neither you nor your guests will be disappointed.
(I assembled mine the night ahead, refrigerated, and just had to bake them before our guests. I love make-ahead recipes. )

You only have 46 Super Bowl recipes here… I refuse to acknowledge SUSHI as a valid Super Bowl worth food. Super Bowl food needs to be BBQ’ed, fried, smoked, baked or fall into a monster sandwich type category. Raw fish, seaweed or vegetable (with the exception of vegies that are dipped into or smothered with something completely fating that negates any and all heath benefits) are NOT Super Bowl worthy foods!!

    You’re Welcome!

    1. Devin- Seriously? Girls watch the Super Bowl too.. (I’m not one of those girls, I am usually just in it for the food and commercials) but we can have ONE chick food thing on there! 🙂 Wish we could come watch the Super Bowl with you guys this year. I have never been to better Super Bowl parties than the ones at your house. You can bet we will be thinking of you guys Super Bowl Sunday! Miss you! 🙂 Oh.. and you can ALWAYS dip the California Roll in batter and fry it! Problem solved.
