Frequently Asked Questions

How do you cook oatmeal in an Instant Pot without burning it?

We haven’t had issues with burning while making this recipe. However, if you are having issues with burning, try using dairy-free milk like almond milk or soy milk. You can also try spraying the bottom of the pot with cooking spray.

What is the ratio of water to oatmeal?

For this instant pot recipe, it is 2 cups of oatmeal, 2 cups of skim milk, and 3 cups of water. The instant pot needs a lot more liquid than a regular recipe.

Can I store leftovers?

You can keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge, but when you heat them up, you may have to add a splash of milk to make them the right consistency.

What are some more recipes that can be made with oats?

Here are some more oat recipes to try: Baked Oats, Overnight Oats, Homemade Oat Milk, and Oatmeal Cookies.

Tasted delicious but guisered a huge mess gooey mess out of the pressure release. Not sure how to keep this from happening? Maybe there’s have a tip I missed.

  3. 5 stars
Turned out perfect, but I would adjust the total time listed to include time for the instant pot to come to the right pressure after you set it. It took an extra 10-20 minutes for me.
