A healthy breakfast can really keep you feeling full and your mind sharp!
Ingredients in Avocado Toast
- Toast – I like to use a hearty, whole grain bread, but this tastes great on any bread! I have had it on sourdough, white bread, rye bread, and even sometimes on a hash brown patty.
- Avocado – make sure your avocados are perfectly ripe by removing the stem at the top. If you see green under the stem, then it is ripe! You can speed up the ripening process by storing the avocados on the counter in a closed brown paper bag.
- Toppings – keep it simple by adding a sprinkle of flaky sea salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes or go all out! Try an egg, tomatoes, sprouts, radishes, paprika, feta cheese, Everything But the Bagel seasoning, bacon crumbles, pickled red onions (its so easy to make your own!), fresh basil, lemon juice, lime juice, dill, lox, capers, or drizzle with honey!

Also a note on the toast, try to get a good, grainy bread to toast up so that it doesn’t get soggy! I used some whole wheat bread from Great Harvest that worked really well for this recipe. But I have also used a nine grain and other breads that have worked well too.
