Honey Butter is one of those indulgences that I forget about sometimes, but once I whip up a batch I think to myself “I should have this on hand all the time!” Every time I eat at Texas Roadhouse, I’m reminded of why that Texas Roadhouse butter is so good on their rolls. Ingredients to make Homemade Honey Butter including vanilla, honey and butter.

How to Make Light, Fluffy Honey Butter

  • I like to use sweet, salted butter for this recipe. It adds another level of flavor as you whip it up. However if you only have unsalted butter on hand, use it! You could even toss in a pinch of sea salt if you feel it needs it.
  • Make sure your butter is at room temperature! This is very important to ensure a creamy, fluffy texture. Room temperature butter mixes so well and won’t be lumpy or chunky.
  • Mix the butter and vanilla together first. Then slowly incorporate your honey. If it seems to be separating a bit, keep whipping it until it’s fully incorporated together.
  • Use a hand mixer, electric mixer, or stand mixer for the fluffiest results. Make sure to scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula occasionally.

Make a Cinnamon Honey Butter Recipe

It’s easy to dress this honey butter recipe up all sorts of ways. One popular flavor is cinnamon. Make cinnamon butter by adding a dash or a teaspoon ground cinnamon, and then, using the whisk attachment or paddle attachment of your mixer, whip the butter on medium speed ’til it’s nice and fluffy. Store in a glass jar in the fridge.

  • Spread it on pumpkin bread, blueberry muffins, banana bread, our Homemade Zucchini Bread or Whole Wheat Bread.
