Baked garlic chicken goes down in our family as the perfect baked chicken! Our mom made something similar to it when we were growing up and she served it with mashed potatoes and beans. Baked Garlic Chicken Ingredients

This chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, made possible by the egg and breadcrumb mixture. It’s an easy method, beginning with egg yolks, butter, and garlic. This is the perfect combination for dinner!

  • Egg yolks – This will tenderize the chicken as it sits in the ziplock bag. Marinate the chicken breasts in the egg mixture while you preheat your oven and mix together the dry ingredients.
  • Garlic – Finely chopped and added to the mix.
  • Chicken breast halves – Cut the chicken in half and soak it in the egg mixture to tenderize the chicken.
  • Butter – The butter helps crisp the chicken while it is baking.
  • Panko bread crumbs – We love using Panko Japanese breadcrumbs because they crisp up nice and golden in the oven, creating a delicious crust for the chicken. You can find Panko breadcrumbs next to the breadcrumbs in the grocery store.
  • Parmesan cheese – Grated in the plastic tube bottle with the green lid. This powdered parmesan cheese gives an extra texture.
  • Parsley – Dried or fresh parsley gives a special blend of herbs to the chicken.
  • Garlic powder – Every garlic chicken needs garlic flavoring! This garlic powder is just that and adds the best savory seasoning to it!

Tips and Suggestions

Follow these tips and suggestions for extra flavor, ways to cook, and helpful tips for cooking chicken evenly. This easy-to-make chicken dinner is one that you will have on rotation week after week!

  • Prepare – If your chicken is too thick and uneven, use either a rolling pin or a meat mallet to thin the chicken and make them more even for cooking.
  • Extra crispy – If there’s any egg mixture left over, pour it on top for crispy skin. It helps obtain the golden crust that tastes so yummy.
  • Skillet – Need to be quicker and cook in a skillet. Melt butter or olive oil in a skillet and place the chicken over medium-high heat. Flipping once after 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Cooking chicken – Bake the chicken for about 15 minutes on each side until the chicken is no longer pink in the middle.
  • Rest – Let the chicken rest before slicing so the juices have time to redistribute so it doesn’t go dry and you have a juicy chicken.

“I made this recipe for a large group while we were on vacation – omg, I’ve never seen chicken go so quickly or children eat so quietly. The few pieces that were left over were stolen out of my fridge by the teen-agers.
This is definitely going to be a go-to recipe.”

I’m 80 yrsrs old and have shaky hands and my eyes aren’t so good either so slicing or chopping garlic is a no no. Can I use my garlic press without spoiling the meal. I love garlic 😋.
