Make eating vegetables fun and delicious! Our creamy and flavorful vegetable dip turns veggies into your new favorite food!

We can all agree, nothing beats homemade. I think we’ve all tried the various different store bought versions of veggie dips, you know, the ones in tubs. They are gelatinous and not very flavorful. Making your own vegetable dip isn’t hard! It’s a few ingredients, a few spices, and you have a creamy, special creation that you actually want to dip things in.

Ingredients to make Veggie Dip including mayonnaise, sour cream, seasonings, lemon, dill, salt and pepper.

Easy Veggie Dip

This veggie dip uses easy ingredients from your fridge and pantry. Here’s what you need:

  • Sour Cream – You can also use plain Greek yogurt.
  • Mayonnaise – I like using Best Foods Mayonnaise. In my opinion it tastes the best but you can use whatever you have on hand.
  • Lemon Juice – For the best flavor use fresh lemon
  • Seasonings – fresh dill, seasoning salt, onion and garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper.

Mix them all together and let it rest to allow the flavors to combine.

Best Vegetables for Dipping

Any fresh vegetable will taste perfect in this veggie dip, but here are some of my personal favorites:

  • Carrots
  • Raw broccoli florets
  • Sliced cucumber
  • Mini bell peppers
  • Celery sticks
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Sliced radishes
  • Snap peas
  • Raw cauliflower florets

Tips & Variations

Adjusting the ratios – You can always adjust the mayo/sour cream ratios depending on your taste. One of my kids doesn’t love the flavor of mayonnaise so sometimes we will reduce the amount of mayo and add extra sour cream.

Make it spicy – Add a little sriracha or hot sauce for a little kick

Let the flavors bloom – If I am planning a picnic or gathering, I like to make this ahead of time and refrigerate to allow the flavors to meld and bloom.

Dip More than Veggies – More than veggies can be dunked in this dip! Try some crackers, pita chips, tortilla chips, potato chips, pretzels, or baguette slices.

Hi! I haven’t made this yet, but I can tell it is delicious just by reading the ingredients. It has me heading for the Fridge crisper 🙂 Dill is good, but my favorite seasoning for Veggies is Thyme 🙂 and I can’t live without garlic and onion powder! So I’m set for a day of good snacks. I probably should save the Thyme for cooked vegetables and not risk mixing it with dill.
