- 2 slices bread
- 3 slices cheese see notes for the best cheeses
- 1 tablespoon butter
Place the cheese slices in between the two bread slices.
Butter one side of each piece of bread and place in the air fryer basket. Secure each corner of the sandwich with a toothpick.
Cook at 390 degrees for 4 minutes. Remove the toothpicks and flip the sandwich. Cook for another 4 minutes.
Remove from air fryer, cut, and serve.
- Almost any cheese will work on a Grilled Cheese Sandwich. However, you want to stay away from cheeses that don’t melt or slice well. Avoid feta, blue cheese, goat cheese, queso blanco, and white cheddar.
- Our favorite cheeses for grilled cheese are cheddar, havarti, and gouda.
- If you don't secure your sandwich with toothpicks, then the top piece of bread might fly off during cooking.
