Blue Cheese Burger with Bacon

Hamburger Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef preferably 80/20 -- any less fat won't be as juicy
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Frank's Red Hot Sauce Original
- 2 teaspoons dry onion soup mix
- salt & pepper to taste
Additional Ingredients:
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 pound thick-cut bacon cooked
- lettuce to taste
- blue cheese crumbles to taste
- onions sliced and grilled (optional)
Combine hamburger ingredients in a large bowl. Mix with hands until just combined (you don't want to over-do it). Cover and allow mixture to sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
Form the beef mixture into 4 patties and grill for appx. 4-6 minutes on each side or until internal temperature reaches at least 155-degrees. Remove from the grill and allow the burgers to rest for about 5 minutes (this allows the beef to continue cooking and reach a temperature of about 160-degrees before eating).
In the meantime, combine sauce ingredients in a small sauce pan and heat until very warm (you don't want it to be bubbling up). Stirring often.
Serve burgers on buns with additional ingredients and a couple spoonfuls of creamy buffalo sauce.
